Old Bohemian Light Beer 12 Oz Zip/Insert Top Can

Old Bohemian Light Zip Top Can

Produced by Eastern Brewing Corporation in Hammonton, New Jersey, this container represents one of the most recognizable proprietary labels from South Jersey's long-standing regional packaging plant. Eastern operated out of Atlantic County and established a reputation as a prolific producer of both house brands and contract labels distributed across the Mid-Atlantic and East Coast markets.

Old Bohemian served as one of Eastern's primary flagship lines. The label design incorporated classic mid-century graphic elements, featuring bold typography, traditional crest motifs, and Eastern's familiar reference to using pure artesian well water from their Hammonton facility. The integration of zip and insert top ends reflects the packaging developments adopted by regional brewers during the industry-wide evolution of canning machinery.

Eastern Brewing was notable for its adaptability and independence, maintaining strong local and regional distribution during a period when many competing regional breweries faced closure or consolidation. Collectors note that variations exist across different manufacturing runs of this can, featuring minor differences in brewery text formatting, mandatory statement layouts, and print color saturation.
