Old Dutch Brand Beer 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Old Dutch Beer: Associated Chicago

The Old Dutch Brand Beer 12 oz tab top can produced under the Associated banner in Chicago, Illinois, represents a notable chapter in midwestern brewing history. Originally established by the Krantz Brewing Company in Findlay, Ohio, the classic Old Dutch label migrated across regional operations before being packaged under the Associated Brewing Company network.

For can collectors, the Chicago mandatory listing holds particular interest. Associated operated multiple facilities across the Midwest, and cans bearing the Chicago plant designation are widely considered more elusive than examples originating from other production hubs. The can features the classic Old Dutch branding, often accompanied by the recognizable slogan "The Good Beer" framed against its traditional graphic backdrop.

Collectors note variations within this release, reflecting the evolving manufacturing lines of the era. Packaging differences include alternate seam constructions, such as soldered versus glued side seams, along with subtle shifts in the multi-city mandatory text printed along the seam line. With its bold heritage graphics and regional Chicago brewery attribution, this container remains a prized piece of midwestern breweriana.
