Old Milwaukee Genuine Draft 14 Oz Tab Top Can

Old Milwaukee 14 Oz Tampa Draft

The Old Milwaukee Genuine Draft 14 oz tab top can is a notable odd-size release canned by the Jos. Schlitz Brewing Company at its Tampa, Florida facility. The Tampa plant served as a major southeastern hub for Schlitz's core lineup as well as its value-priced Old Milwaukee brand.

In breweriana collecting, 14-ounce cans occupy an atypical middle ground between standard 12-ounce containers and 16-ounce half-quarts. Breweries introduced 14-ounce packaging primarily for military contracts and selected regional test markets, which contributed to lower production numbers compared to traditional sizes.

The can features the classic Old Milwaukee draft styling, displaying bold red block lettering, traditional brand iconography, and metallic trim accents. Label variations exist for this package, showing slight differences in mandatory brewery text and metallic highlights across different canning runs. Because odd-size cans from regional packaging hubs had limited distribution, this Tampa-issued 14-ounce can remains a prized focal point for collectors of Schlitz and Old Milwaukee breweriana.
