Old Tap Brand Select Stock Ale Quart

Old Tap Select Stock Ale Quart

The Old Tap Brand Select Stock Ale quart cone top represents one of the most celebrated large-format cans to emerge from Enterprise Brewing Company of Fall River, Massachusetts. Enterprise Brewing was a cornerstone of the southeastern Massachusetts brewing landscape, packaging several regional favorites across various formats, but their 32-ounce quart cans remain among the most prized by breweriana collectors.

Design and Collector Significance

The can features the distinctive Old Tap branding, defined by bold display lettering, classic Enterprise typography, and traditional ale motifs that adorned the brewery's flagship stock ale lineup. The oversized quart body provided a large canvas for the brewery's label art, making it an imposing display piece in any collection.

Quart cans from New England breweries are scarce in general, but the Old Tap Select Stock Ale quart holds an exceptional status in the hobby. For decades, examples of this quart were scarcely seen in the collector community until small discoveries surfaced a limited number of specimens. While minor text and layout variations exist among Enterprise's Old Tap releases across their production runs, genuine quart examples remain premier centerpiece acquisitions for specialists in Massachusetts breweriana and quart collectors nationwide.
