Old Tap Export Lager Beer Cone Top Can

Old Tap Export Lager Cone Top

Produced by the Enterprise Brewing Company of Fall River, Massachusetts, the Old Tap Export Lager Beer cone top can represents an iconic piece of New England brewing heritage. Enterprise Brewing operated out of its historic Fall River facility, establishing the Old Tap brand as a cornerstone of its regional portfolio across Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and neighboring East Coast markets.

The can is distinguished by its classic lithography, featuring an illustration of an older gentleman happily raising a glass of beer. This tavern-style imagery is framed by decorative scrollwork, rich contrasting accent tones, and prominent period typography. Manufactured by the Continental Can Company, the container exemplifies the high-profile cone top profile that regional packaging lines utilized during the mid-twentieth century.

For breweriana enthusiasts, Old Tap cans carry strong historical value. Independent breweries in southeastern Massachusetts faced intense market pressure from expanding national operations, making surviving containers from Fall River prized additions to regional collections. Enterprise Brewing released variations of the Old Tap line over the course of its operations, with minor differences in text, tax mandatory statements, and metallic background finishes across the label family.
