Orbit Premium Beer Flat Top Can

Orbit Premium Beer from Miami

Produced during the height of the mid-century American Space Age, the Orbit Premium Beer flat top can represents a memorable chapter in Florida breweriana. The brand emerged at a time when nationwide fascination with aerospace and rocket launches centered squarely on Florida's Space Coast, prompting regional beverage producers to embrace cosmic themes and futuristic branding.

Orbit Premium Beer was canned under the "Orbit Brewery" moniker, an alternate trade name utilized by The National Brewing Company's Southern Division at their historic facility on Northwest 13th Street in Miami, Florida. The plant had previously housed other notable operations, including Wagner Brewing and the American Brewing Company. By deploying trade names like Orbit Brewery, the facility was able to market distinct brand identities across the state.

The can's visual presentation embodies clean mid-century graphic styling, centered around bold typography with space-age flair. Many examples were manufactured with specialized vanity top lids that featured brewery information or Florida tax stamps embossed directly into the top metal lid.

Among breweriana collectors, Orbit cans are notable for their known production differences. Variations exist featuring alternate city mandatory statements, such as Tampa alongside the Miami canning line. In addition to municipal mandatory changes, variations in metallic finishes and lid stampings exist across production runs, with the Miami version regarded as a prized regional favorite.
