Pabst Blue Ribbon Bock 12 Oz Zip/Tab Top Can

Pabst Bock Los Angeles Tab Can

The Pabst Blue Ribbon Bock 12 oz zip/tab top can represents a notable regional release from the Pabst Brewing Company's Los Angeles, California facility. Pabst expanded westward by acquiring the historic Los Angeles Brewing Company plant, allowing the national brewing company to produce and package its seasonal offerings directly on the Pacific Coast.

Because bock beer was traditionally a seasonal offering distributed in limited quantities during the spring months, production volumes for Pabst Bock cans were substantially lower than those of the flagship Blue Ribbon lager. Surviving examples bearing the Los Angeles mandatory designation are especially prized among regional specialists compared to those originating from Pabst's Midwestern facilities.

The graphic design features the established Pabst Blue Ribbon branding adapted for the bock line, highlighting bold bock titling alongside the Los Angeles facility text on the can body. Collectors of breweriana actively catalog brewery-specific variations across Pabst's packaging footprint. Variations exist across production batches, characterized by minor differences in city mandatory statements, text alignment, and top construction. The Los Angeles imprint establishes this can as an essential entry for collectors focused on California packaging history and seasonal national brand variations.
