Pabst Blue Ribbon Genuine Bock 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Peoria Heights Pabst Bock Tab Top

The Pabst Blue Ribbon Genuine Bock 12 oz tab top can represents a seasonal release packaged at Pabst's major manufacturing facility in Peoria Heights, Illinois. The Peoria Heights plant served as an integral production center for Pabst throughout the mid-20th century, canning specialty and seasonal offerings alongside the company's flagship beers.

Facility Background

The Peoria Heights location originally entered the Pabst network following the merger with Premier Malt Products and grew into one of the largest brewing operations in the region. Seasonal bock production was typically rolled out in limited batches for the late winter and spring market, making bock canning runs far more limited in volume than standard lager output.

Design and Features

The can features the classic Pabst Blue Ribbon insignia adapted for the bock product line, incorporating darker background tones and distinct 'Genuine Bock' typography. Side mandatory text credits the Peoria Heights, Illinois brewery location, marking it as a key piece of central Illinois industrial history before Pabst ceased brewing operations at the site.

Collector Variations

Breweriana collectors track variations of this can based on mandatory text arrangements, multi-city plant listings along the seam, and minor differences in top lid stamping from different canning runs.
