Pabst Blue Ribbon Genuine Bock 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Pabst Bock from Peoria Heights

The Pabst Blue Ribbon Genuine Bock tab top can represents a seasonal release from the historic Pabst Brewing Company facility in Peoria Heights, Illinois. While Pabst maintained its primary corporate identity in Milwaukee, the large Peoria Heights plant played an essential role in packaging and distributing the company's seasonal brews throughout the region.

Bock beers were traditionally packaged in limited quantities for late winter and spring release, resulting in significantly shorter canning runs compared to standard flagship lagers. This constrained production window makes cans bearing the Peoria Heights mandatory text particularly interesting to breweriana collectors focused on regional plant lines and specialty issues.

The label incorporates the established Blue Ribbon motif adapted specifically for the bock line, featuring prominent "Genuine Bock" typography and distinctive color accents. Known variations on this can include differences in mandatory plant listings, variations in lid embossings, and subtle differences in manufacturer seam markings. These seasonal cans provide a focused snapshot of Pabst's multi-brewery distribution network during the tab top era.
