Paul Bunyan Beer Flat Top Can

Paul Bunyan Beer Can Overview

The Paul Bunyan Beer flat top can is a celebrated piece of breweriana associated with the Paul Bunyan Division of the Wisconsin Brewing Company in Waukesha, Wisconsin. The label art prominently features the legendary American folklore giant Paul Bunyan, paying homage to the timber lore and wilderness heritage of the Upper Midwest.

The vibrant graphic design showcases Bunyan in traditional woodsman attire, holding his classic double-bitted axe. Known variations across production batches feature differences such as bright white versus off-white backgrounds, distinct green trim accents, and subtle wording adjustments, including versions highlighting the phrase "Wisconsin's Great Northwoods State". The cans were manufactured by major container producers of the era, including the Continental Can Company and the National Can Corporation.

With its bold character design and deep connection to regional Wisconsin brewing history, this can remains an enduring favorite among collectors of mid-century advertising and folklore-themed breweriana.
