Pfeiffer Famous Beer 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Pfeiffer Famous Beer from St. Paul

Originally established in Detroit by Conrad Pfeiffer in 1889, the Pfeiffer label grew into a prominent Midwestern brand. Following mid-century consolidation, the brand transitioned through the Associated Brewing Company before being absorbed into the expanding portfolio of the G. Heileman Brewing Company. Under Heileman's multi-plant operation, packaging took place across regional facilities, notably utilizing the historic Jacob Schmidt plant in St. Paul, Minnesota.

The face of this 12-ounce can features the traditional Pfeiffer heraldic shield crest, classic lettering, and the heritage slogan "The Good Beer Since 1889". Mandatory side-panel text credits the G. Heileman Brewing Company and includes St. Paul, Minnesota, alongside other major Heileman production hubs such as La Crosse, Wisconsin; Evansville, Indiana; and Newport, Kentucky.

Among breweriana collectors, variations are known to exist across production runs. These differences primarily involve side-panel city listings, canning plant identification marks, statutory text arrangements, and metal compositions ranging from steel to aluminum. This can serves as a notable artifact of American brewing consolidation, documenting the legacy of St. Paul packaging operations under G. Heileman.
