Piels Real Draft Premium Draft 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Lehigh Valley Piels Real Draft

The Piels Real Draft Premium Draft 12 oz tab top can represents a significant chapter in East Coast brewing history. Originally established in Brooklyn, New York, by brothers Gottfried, Michael, and Wilhelm Piel, Piel Bros. built one of the region's most recognizable beer brands. As brewing industry consolidation reshaped the market, production of the heritage label moved from its original New York roots to regional packaging hubs, including the large facility located in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania.

This can highlights Piels' prominent "Real Draft" campaign, which marketed packaged beer designed to deliver genuine draught characteristics directly from a can. The graphic design showcases bold draft lettering alongside the traditional Piels trademark, accompanied by mandatory statutory text explicitly identifying Piel Bros. in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania.

For breweriana collectors, the can documents the transition of historic regional labels to modern East Coast packaging plants. Known variations exist across manufacturing runs, exhibiting slight differences in mandatory text placement and lid stampings.
