The Point A Commemorative Premium Beer 12 Oz Tab Top Can is a collectible release produced by the Stevens Point Brewery in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Established in 1857 by Frank Wahle and George Ruder, the Stevens Point Brewery is recognized as one of the oldest continuously operating breweries in the United States, maintaining a deeply rooted regional identity in central Wisconsin.

Background and Significance

Commemorative cans from Stevens Point Brewery represent a notable chapter in Midwestern breweriana. The brewery issued this commemorative premium beer package to celebrate significant local heritage and milestones tied directly to the community of Stevens Point. Throughout its operational history, the brewery frequently engaged its dedicated local following by producing special-edition packaging that honored civic anniversaries, historical events, and regional pride.

Design and Collectibility

The graphic presentation highlights the brewery's traditional branding alongside dedicated commemorative labeling that sets it apart from standard production runs of the flagship Point line. The artwork reflects the historical legacy of the brewery and its civic ties to the surrounding Portage County area.

For breweriana enthusiasts, this can holds appeal as a regional artifact reflecting the era when independent breweries crafted special commemorative editions for community celebrations. Known variations exist across different manufacturing batches, showing minor differences in seam construction, mandatory trade text, and finish details. Because the brewery maintained a primarily regional distribution footprint, these cans remain sought-after pieces among collectors specializing in Wisconsin brewing heritage and commemorative issues.
