Potosi Good Old Beer Cone Top Can

Potosi Good Old Beer Cone Top

The Potosi Good Old Beer cone top can represents one of the most recognizable labels produced by the historic Potosi Brewing Company of Potosi, Wisconsin. A staple of Upper Midwest brewing history, the can features the prominent "Good Old Potosi" brand lettering alongside promotional text highlighting "Mild Light and Smooth" and brewing with natural spring water.

For breweriana collectors, this can remains a signature piece of Wisconsin regional history. The can was manufactured with distinct factory variations during its production lifespan. These known variations include differences in mandatory alcohol content markings—such as specific statutory percentage limits by weight—as well as minor wording alterations in the legal text and distributor credits.

The graphic design of the Good Old Potosi cone top can achieved broader cultural recognition through a monumental roadside attraction. Across from the restored brewery complex and the National Brewery Museum in Potosi, an authentic agricultural silo from the original brewery farm was transformed into a standing replica of this can. Measuring over 40 feet tall, the structure is celebrated as the world's largest cone top beer can, painted to mirror the exact labeling, color layout, and typography of the original container.
