Queens Brau Select Beer Flat Top Can

Queens Brau Select Can History

The Queens Brau Select Beer flat top can represents a notable chapter in the brewing heritage of Cumberland, Maryland. Packaged for the Queen City Brewing Company, the label emerged during a prominent era of regional beverage packaging across the Mid-Atlantic. Queen City Brewing Company, originally established as the German Brewing Company at the turn of the twentieth century, adopted the Queen City name during the World War II era and expanded into one of western Maryland's premier brewing operations.

The graphic design is highlighted by bold typography, metallic trim accents, and classic regional branding centered around the "Queens Brau Select Beer" insignia. For breweriana collectors, the can remains a prized artifact from Cumberland’s bustling brewing history, an era when local independent breweries sustained thriving regional distribution networks before national consolidation changed the industry landscape.

Notable variations of the Queens Brau flat top can exist, showcasing minor differences in can company manufacturing marks, seam constructions, and text arrangements across production runs by manufacturers such as the American Can Company and the Continental Can Company. Today, it remains a standout favorite among collectors dedicated to preserving Maryland and Appalachian brewing history.
