Rainier Old Stock Ale 11 Oz Zip Top Can

Rainier Old Stock Ale 11 Oz Can

The Rainier Old Stock Ale 11 oz zip top can represents a notable chapter in Pacific Northwest breweriana, produced by Sicks' Rainier Brewing Co. in Seattle, Washington.

Regional Packaging and Graphics

Rather than conforming to the standard 12-ounce volume common across national markets, this can was issued in an 11-ounce capacity, reflecting a distinct regional packaging preference popular among Pacific Northwest breweries during the era. The label displays Rainier's traditional Old Stock Ale heraldry and bold typography, often paired with instructional top rim banners promoting the pull mechanism.

Brewery History and Collector Appeal

Sicks' Rainier Brewing Co. operated from its landmark Seattle facility on Airport Way South, driving regional market dominance with both its flagship lagers and stronger ales. Rainier's ale offerings maintained a dedicated following long before the brand transitioned to its later green-packaged formulations.

Among breweriana collectors, variations exist across production runs, showcasing subtle differences in canning text, top lid imprint banners, and legal brewery statements. Its regional volume and strong Seattle heritage make this can a prized target for Pacific Northwest specialists and vintage ale collectors alike.
