Rainier Special Export Pale Beer Flat Top Can

Sicks' Spokane Rainier Flat Top

Produced by Sicks' Spokane Brewery, Inc. in Spokane, Washington, this Rainier Special Export Pale Beer can represents a key chapter in Pacific Northwest brewing history. While the Rainier trademark is traditionally associated with Seattle, brewing magnate Emil Sick expanded the brand's production and distribution footprint across the region. The Spokane plant served as an essential packaging and distribution hub for the Inland Northwest market, supplying Eastern Washington, northern Idaho, and western Montana.

Visually, the can features classic Rainier typography along with the "Special Export" and "Pale Beer" designations, accented by regional Pacific Northwest iconography such as the Mount Rainier illustration. Crucially for regional breweriana specialists, the mandatory side-panel text explicitly credits Sicks' Spokane Brewery, Inc., distinguishing this release from cans filled at the primary Seattle facility.

Among collectors, this can is known to exist in several variations across different canning runs. These differences appear in slight shifts in mandatory text layout, subtle graphic adjustments to scenic elements, can manufacturer markings, and different lid stampings—such as regional alcohol tax statements stamped onto the lids.
