Red Fox Light Beer Cone Top Can

Red Fox Light Beer Cone Top

The Red Fox Light Beer cone top was produced for the Largay Brewing Company of Waterbury, Connecticut. Following the repeal of Prohibition, Largay Brewing established a strong regional presence throughout New England, heavily marketing its products around a distinctive mascot: an anthropomorphic red fox dressed in a jacket, illustrated carrying a serving tray filled with glasses of beer.

Manufactured by the Continental Can Company as part of its Cap Sealed line, this high-profile container represents mid-century East Coast canning history. The front face features the central fox illustration bordered by bold brand typography, set against a vibrant graphic layout. The reverse side and lower rims include mandatory brewery identification text and tax notices.

Advanced collectors note variations of this label across different production runs. These variations are typically distinguished by differences in the mandatory legal text—such as the presence or placement of the Internal Revenue Tax Paid (IRTP) statement—along with subtle changes in factory markings and color shading.

Because Largay Brewing distributed primarily on a regional scale, cans featuring the brewery's trademark fox mascot remain popular centerpiece items among collectors of Connecticut breweriana and graphic animal-themed beverage containers.
