Redtop Beer 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Drewrys Redtop Tab Top Can

The Redtop Beer 12 oz tab top can produced under the Drewrys Ltd. label in South Bend, Indiana, holds a notable place in mid-century American breweriana. While the Redtop brand originally gained widespread recognition in Cincinnati, shifting regional market dynamics and industry consolidation led to Drewrys packaging and distributing the label from its northern Indiana facility.

Drewrys Ltd. operated out of the historic Muessel Brewing complex in South Bend after expanding into the United States market. During its peak operational decades, the South Bend plant was one of the largest brewing operations in the Midwest, bottling and canning both its primary product line and various acquired labels.

The can showcases classic Redtop typography and bold contrast styling tailored for retail shelves. Cans displaying the Drewrys Ltd. South Bend mandatory statement hold particular appeal for collectors focused on Indiana brewing history and mid-century brand lineage. Across production runs, multiple label variations emerged, showing minor differences in mandatory text arrangement, font weights, and color accents.
