Redtop Beer 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Associated Brewing Redtop Can

The Redtop Beer 12 Oz Tab Top Can associated with South Bend, Indiana, represents a notable chapter in mid-century American brewing consolidation. Originally established in Cincinnati, Ohio, the Red Top brand grew into a regional powerhouse before corporate shifts and industry restructuring led to its production being transferred across prominent Midwestern brewing hubs, including operations in South Bend under Associated Brewing Company.

Manufactured as a straight-steel container, this can features the classic bold Redtop typography alongside the brand's long-standing traditional emblem. The mandatory text directly links the can to the South Bend brewing facilities, providing collectors with historical documentation of the era when Associated Brewing Company oversaw multi-plant distribution for several legacy regional brands.

Among breweriana collectors, variations of this South Bend issue are known to exist, exhibiting subtle differences in brewery mandatory text, bottom lids, and manufacturer markings. These cans stand as significant historical artifacts documenting the post-Prohibition evolution and eventual integration of heritage labels into consolidated brewing networks.
