Regal Brau Bavarian Style Beer 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Jos. Huber Regal Brau Tab Top Can

The Regal Brau Bavarian Style Beer 12 Oz Tab Top Can represents a classic chapter in Wisconsin breweriana, produced by the historic Jos. Huber Brewing Company in Monroe, Wisconsin. Established in 1845 as the Blumer Brewery, Huber grew to become one of the most resilient regional breweries in the United States, celebrated for its broad portfolio of proprietary labels and contract brews.

Design and Visual Appeal

The Regal Brau graphic layout draws heavily upon Old World Germanic imagery. Featuring bold Bavarian-style lettering, heraldic crest elements, and contrasting color bands, the label was designed to evoke traditional European brewing craftsmanship. The clean presentation and bold iconography make it an enduring favorite among collectors of Midwestern breweriana.

Collector Notes and Variations

Produced during an era of significant evolution in canning technology, this Regal Brau can exhibits several known manufacturing variations. Collectors document subtle differences across canning runs, including shifts in mandatory legal phrasing, slight alterations in the crest emblem framing, and variations in bottom-lid stamping and factory code placements. These production nuances provide an engaging pursuit for regional specialists aiming to document the full spectrum of Huber's output.

Following the eventual transition of the Monroe facility to the Minhas Craft Brewery, original Jos. Huber cans like this Regal Brau remain quintessential artifacts of twentieth-century independent brewing in southern Wisconsin.
