Regal Select Beer 12 Oz Zip/Tab/Insert Top Can

Regal Select Tab Top from Maier

Produced by the Maier Brewing Company at its historic brewery on Aliso Street in Los Angeles, California, the Regal Select 12-ounce can represents a notable chapter in West Coast brewing history. The Regal Select brand originally achieved prominence under San Francisco's Regal Pale Brewing Company. Following the closure of Regal Pale, Maier acquired rights to the label and integrated it into its production lineup alongside its flagship Brew 102 and contract offerings.

During the industry transition toward self-opening containers, Maier issued Regal Select across modern convenience formats, including zip, pull tab, and insert top styles. To appeal to economy-focused retail shoppers across California and the broader Western market, Maier frequently incorporated promotional features onto the packaging. Known variations among these cans include distinctive embossed or printed six-pack promotional pricing directly on the lids, as well as banner text heralding opener-free tops.

Manufactured in partnership with can makers such as the National Can Company, Regal Select cans feature a bold crest design and clean typography. Breweriana collectors actively study the variations across this run, which showcase differences in mandatory brewery text, alcohol statements, and lid stampings.
