Regal Select Light Beer 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Falstaff Regal Select Light Can

The Regal Select Light Beer 12 oz tab top can represents an interesting cross-regional chapter in American breweriana, issued under the Falstaff Brewing Corporation name from its facility in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Originally recognized as a prominent West Coast label, the Regal Select brand was incorporated into Falstaff's packaging portfolio following broader industry consolidation, leading to its production across Midwestern facilities.

Brewery Background

The Fort Wayne plant, operating at the historic former Berghoff Brewing facility on East Washington Boulevard, served as a primary production hub for Falstaff. As regional brewing companies adapted to shifting market forces, Falstaff leveraged its multi-plant network to package and distribute value-oriented and acquired labels. The presence of the Fort Wayne mandatory on a Regal Select can reflects this era of centralized brewing operations.

Design and Collector Significance

The can features bold Regal Select branding alongside prominent light beer labeling designed for high visibility on retail shelves. The mandatory text printed along the seam area identifies Falstaff Brewing Corporation in Fort Wayne, IN, anchoring the can firmly within Indiana's rich brewing heritage.
