Regency Premium Pilsner Beer Flat Top Can

Maier's Regency Premium Flat Top

Produced by the historic Maier Brewing Company of Los Angeles, California, the Regency Premium Pilsner Beer flat top can represents a notable chapter in mid-century West Coast brewing. Located along Commercial Street near downtown Los Angeles, Maier operated as one of Southern California's prominent regional producers, known both for its flagship Brew 102 and an extensive roster of specialty and contract labels.

Within Maier’s diverse brand portfolio, Regency was marketed with an upscale, traditional presentation. The label art centers on ornate scrollwork framing the bold "Regency" title, complemented by the subtitle "Premium Pilsner Beer" and promotional text proclaiming "Brewed With The Finest Ingredients".

These cans were produced by major container manufacturers of the period, notably the National Can Company. Among breweriana enthusiasts focusing on California and West Coast brewing history, variations of the Regency flat top can exist. Subtle differences appear across manufacturing runs, including variations in the shading of the decorative scrollwork, adjustments to mandatory brewery text placement, and the presence or absence of alcohol content statements.

As a prominent mid-century label from one of Los Angeles' defining regional brewing operations, the Regency flat top remains a celebrated piece for historical can collectors.
