Rheingold Extra Dry Lager Beer Flat Top Can

Miss Rheingold Diane Baker Can

Issued by Liebmann from Orange, New Jersey, this Rheingold Extra Dry Lager Beer can features candidate Diane Baker from the Miss Rheingold 1957 campaign.

The Miss Rheingold contest was one of the most prominent consumer marketing promotions of the mid-20th century. Each year, millions of ballots were cast by patrons in bars, restaurants, and grocery stores throughout the brewery's distribution footprint. To showcase the contenders, Liebmann printed the portraits and names of the finalists directly on their beer cans, turning standard packaging into campaign literature.

Diane Baker, the candidate showcased on this can, went on to achieve widespread fame as a Hollywood actress and television star following her early modeling career. The candidate portrait cans, including those filled and distributed from the Orange, New Jersey facility, represent a celebrated intersection of mid-century breweriana and entertainment history.
