Rheingold Extra Dry Lager Beer Pint Can

Rheingold Extra Dry Pint Can

The Rheingold Extra Dry Lager Beer pint can is a celebrated piece of New York brewing heritage. Produced in New York, this 16-ounce container represents an era when Rheingold held dominant market power, commanding over a third of all beer sales throughout the state. Marketed to provide a generous single serving compared to standard containers, the pint can became an enduring staple among metropolitan taverns and the city's blue-collar workforce.

Beyond its bold crimson, white, and metallic typography, this container is tied to notable New York cultural history. Decades after the initial construction of the original World Trade Center towers, cleanup crews at the site discovered vintage Rheingold cans hidden inside the structural steel beams, left behind by ironworkers who enjoyed them on the job. The can is also linked to the legendary Miss Rheingold advertising campaigns, an annual marketing phenomenon where customer ballots cast at taverns and stores rivaled major political elections in total turnout.

Among collectors, several label variations exist for this pint can. These differences typically include slight changes in mandatory legal text, variations in metallic trim, and brewery ownership credits that alternate between Liebmann Breweries and Rheingold Breweries. Because pint cans were produced in lower volume than standard sizes, this container remains a prized display piece among regional breweriana enthusiasts.
