Rheinlander Export Beer Cone Top Can

Rhinelander Export Cone Top

The Rheinlander Export Beer cone top can represents the flagship offering of the Rhinelander Brewing Company, based in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Situated in Wisconsin's Northwoods, the regional brewery packaged its popular Export lager in high-profile cone top containers supplied primarily by the Continental Can Company.

Within breweriana collecting, this can holds a distinguished place in Upper Midwest brewing history. The can design features bold typography and mid-century aesthetic accents that prominently showcase the Rhinelander name.

Collectors recognize variations of the Rheinlander Export cone top across its production lifespan. Some versions feature the mandatory "Internal Revenue Tax Paid" (IRTP) statement, while subsequent runs omit this text following changes to federal packaging regulations. Additional variations exhibit slight differences in background lithography and color shading across different manufacturing runs.

Rhinelander Brewing Company was originally established in the late nineteenth century and grew to become a well-recognized regional brewer known for creative marketing and regional distribution. While the company eventually became celebrated for introducing the stubby seven-ounce bottle format, its high-profile cone tops remain enduring favorites among collectors of classic Wisconsin breweriana.
