Ruser Light Lager Beer Flat Top Can

Grace Bros. Ruser Light Lager Can

The Ruser Light Lager flat top represents a notable mid-century label associated with Grace Bros. Brewing Company of Santa Rosa, California. While Grace Bros. produced celebrated house lines such as Happy Hops and Velvet Glow, the Northern California brewery also maintained an extensive portfolio of contract brews and localized labels distributed across the West.

Among regional breweriana collectors, Ruser Light Lager holds historical interest due to its multi-brewery background. In addition to the Grace Bros. canning run in Santa Rosa, the Ruser label was also packaged by the Arizona Brewing Company in Phoenix, Arizona. Enthusiasts focusing on West Coast and Southwestern brewing history frequently seek out the Santa Rosa mandatory statement to differentiate this California-filled container from its Arizona counterpart.

Manufactured by the American Can Company, the 12-ounce container showcases the brand's bold mid-century typography and color scheme. Variations of the can exist across the collecting market, characterized by minor changes in mandatory text layout, canning codes, and regional manufacturer marks.

Following the eventual closure of the independent Grace Bros. plant and subsequent acquisition by Maier Brewing Company in the late 1960s, cans bearing the Santa Rosa Grace Bros. name stand as enduring artifacts from Sonoma County's historic commercial brewing era.
