Following the repeal of Prohibition in 1933, brewing restarted in earnest. After resolving territorial trademark divisions with the Jackson Brewing Company in New Orleans, the company formally adopted the Jax Brewing Company name in 1940 and expanded distribution. By 1956, facing heavy competition from national shipping giants, the company sold its brewing trademarks to Jackson Brewing and converted its Jacksonville plant into cold storage warehousing.
