Scheidt's Valley Forge Bock Flat Top Can

Norristown's Classic Bock Can

Produced by the Adam Scheidt Brewing Company in Norristown, Pennsylvania, the Scheidt's Valley Forge Bock flat top can represents a classic piece of Pennsylvania breweriana. While many regional breweries reserved canning lines strictly for standard lagers and ales, Scheidt was known for canning seasonal bock beer, providing collectors with an iconic design tied to the historic Valley Forge name.

Design and Collector Variations

The can graphics showcase the prominent Valley Forge branding alongside traditional bock motifs, including goat imagery and bold typography. Scheidt's packaging emphasized the heritage of Montgomery County brewing while maintaining strong visual shelf presence.

Collectors have documented multiple label variations over the course of the label's run. Differences among known versions include subtle shifts in lettering colors, variations in mandatory legal and tax text, and distinct manufacturer markings along the seam.

Historical Context

Founded in the late nineteenth century along Stony Creek, the Adam Scheidt Brewing Company grew to become one of the premier independent breweries outside Philadelphia. The Valley Forge label served as Scheidt's flagship brand across multiple decades. The bock flat top remains a popular piece for collectors focused on mid-Atlantic breweriana, regional Pennsylvania brewing history, and goat-themed bock graphics.
