Schlitz Malt Liquor 14 Oz Tab Top Can

Schlitz 14 Oz Malt Liquor Can

The Schlitz Malt Liquor 14 Oz Tab Top Can represents an unusual capacity within the Jos. Schlitz Brewing Company packaging lineup. While standard malt liquor releases typically appeared in 12-ounce or 16-ounce formats, the 14-ounce container was distributed to satisfy specific regional market niches and pricing strategies.

Production and Regional Origin

Bearing brewery mandatory markings from the Jos. Schlitz facility in Longview, Texas, this can reflects the company's regional brewing network established to supply the southern and southwestern markets. The Longview facility served as an important hub for packaging and distribution across Texas and surrounding states.

Visual Design and Mascot

The face of the can features the famous Schlitz Malt Liquor charging bull emblem, paired with bold typography and prominent notation of the 14 fluid ounce volume. The Longview mandatory text is positioned along the side and bottom margins alongside regulatory declarations.

Collector Considerations

Odd-sized containers from specific regional packaging facilities are dedicated focus areas within breweriana collecting. Known variations of this can include differences in mandatory city text arrangements, state tax statements, and subtle revisions to the bull logo graphics.
