Pittsburgh's Sierra Pilsner Can

Produced by the Pittsburgh Brewing Company of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, this can represents an intriguing chapter in regional brewery branding. Best known for its flagship Iron City label, Pittsburgh Brewing frequently packaged specialized and regional brands to expand its market footprint.

Label Graphics and Design

The can showcases a clean white background highlighted by bold, stylized red "Sierra" typography. Complementing the brand name is an outdoor wilderness illustration depicting a mountain landscape and a canoe on water, bordered with metallic bronze and gold accent striping. The central label proudly proclaims "Naturally Brewed Pilsner Beer" alongside quality highlights emphasizing ingredients such as "Select Barley Malt," "Imported Hallertau Hops," and "Choicest Grains."

Noteworthy Markings and Text

Encircling the top portion of the label are specific storage and temperature instructions provided directly by the brewery: "FOR PEAK FLAVOR KEEP IN A COOL AREA. SERVE BETWEEN 38° F. & 42° F." The mandatory brewery text attributes production to the Pittsburgh Brewing Co., complete with the Lawrenceville facility's Pittsburgh, PA 15201 postal zip code.
