Spring Lager Beer 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Spring Lager Tab Top Beer Can

The Spring Lager Beer can is an appealing piece of West Coast breweriana produced by the storied Maier Brewing Company of Los Angeles, California. During its peak operations, Maier was widely recognized for an extensive portfolio that included major regional labels, private store brands, and budget-friendly offerings. Spring Lager served as one of these value-oriented beers distributed throughout California.

For can collectors, Spring Lager presents several interesting technical and aesthetic features. The label displays bold, straightforward typography and vibrant decorative elements typical of Maier's packaging lineup. Known variations exist across different manufacturing runs, showcasing distinctions such as side-seam construction methods, metallic versus enamel finishes, and minor shifts in mandatory text placement.

Another notable highlight on select issues of this can is promotional pricing printed directly onto the label, such as a factory caption reading "6 for 89¢". These price-stamped cans offer an engaging window into the retail marketing and competitive pricing strategies utilized by regional breweries of the era.

Reflecting the prolific history of Los Angeles brewing, the Spring Lager tab top remains a classic and sought-after piece for collectors of California breweriana and regional canning history.
