Stegmaier Bock 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Stegmaier Bock Tab Top Can

The Stegmaier Bock 12 oz tab top can represents a classic piece of breweriana from the historic Stegmaier Brewing Company of Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Founded by Charles Stegmaier, the operation grew into one of the most prominent regional brewing powerhouses in the state, celebrated for its extensive distribution network and storied heritage.

Bock beers were traditionally brewed as a seasonal offering for early spring release, making seasonal bock can designs an enduring favorite among breweriana collectors. The Stegmaier Bock can design prominently showcases the traditional bock goat illustration alongside the distinguished Stegmaier branding and banner graphics.

Throughout the production history of Stegmaier's tab top cans, known variations exist across issues, including differences in mandatory text placements, seam constructions, metallic paint finishes, and slight adjustments to the goat emblem. The Stegmaier name eventually transitioned to The Lion Brewery of Wilkes-Barre following the closure of the original brewery facility, marking a notable chapter in Pennsylvania industrial brewing history.

For collectors of northeastern Pennsylvania breweriana and seasonal bock packaging, this can remains a treasured staple of Wilkes-Barre brewing history.
