Sterling Premium Pilsner Draft 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Evansville Sterling Draft Can

Produced by Sterling Brewers in Evansville, Indiana, this 12-ounce container features the classic trade dress for the brewery's packaged draft offering. Sterling was a cornerstone regional brewing operation in the Ohio River Valley, serving deep consumer markets across southern Indiana, Kentucky, and the greater Midwest.

The label design reflects the period when regional breweries highlighted draft-style formulations in canned packages. Graphically, the can showcases the recognizable Sterling heraldic crest and script lettering set against metallic and woodgrain-patterned backgrounds, paired with bold draft labeling across the primary display faces.

Throughout the brewery's packaging history, the Evansville plant operated under several corporate parent companies, including Associated Brewing Company and later the G. Heileman Brewing Company. Because containers were sourced across different metal packaging fabricators, known variations exist among production runs. These differences appear primarily in manufacturer logos, side-panel mandatory text arrangements, and subtle color shade variations in the lithography. Alongside novelty bank top versions and larger half-quart formats, this 12-ounce container remains an essential piece for breweriana historians documenting Evansville's industrial brewing legacy.
