Storz Tap Genuine Draft 12 Oz Tab Top Can

Omaha's Faux-Woodgrain Draft Can

Produced by the Storz Brewing Company of Omaha, Nebraska, the Storz Tap Genuine Draft 12 oz can represents a prominent regional Midwest design from the pull-tab packaging era. Founded in the late nineteenth century by German immigrant Gottlieb Storz, the Omaha-based brewery grew into one of the largest independent brewing operations in the Great Plains, dominating the local market for generations.

The Storz Tap Genuine Draft can is widely recognized among breweriana enthusiasts for its faux-woodgrain graphic motif. Designed to emulate the appearance of a wooden draft barrel or keg, the label features printed wood slats framed by metallic bands, visually reinforcing the brewery-fresh draft theme. The central design highlights bold typography for "Storz Tap" and "Genuine Draft," paired with the company's long-running heritage tagline noting quality brewing since the late 1800s.

Throughout its manufacturing run, Storz issued this can across different seam constructions, including soldered and glued-seam versions, as well as distinct pull-tab configurations. The Storz brand remained a staple across Nebraska and neighboring states until the family sold the business and production eventually ceased in Omaha, making this draft-themed can an enduring piece of Nebraska's industrial brewing heritage.
