Stroh America's Fire-brewed Beer Test Can

Stroh Lehigh Valley Test Can

The Stroh America's Fire-brewed Beer Test Can represents a notable chapter in Stroh packaging history tied to the company's facility in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania. Following the acquisition of the Lehigh Valley plant, Stroh began integrating the location into its regional canning lines and updating its branding layouts.

Test cans bearing this design were developed as pre-production mockups and proofing samples to evaluate ink registration, mandatory brewery location labeling, and brand composition prior to full-scale canning runs. The artwork displays Stroh's classic "America's Fire-brewed Beer" phrasing and heritage crest, paired with mandatory text specifically designating Lehigh Valley alongside the parent company's identity.

For breweriana collectors, test cans associated with the Lehigh Valley facility provide direct insight into the graphic adjustments made during Stroh's multi-facility expansion. Variations exist among surviving trial examples, showing differences in textual placement, font weighting, and minor decorative details across test iterations. Because these cans were produced strictly for plant testing, executive sign-off, or lithography alignment rather than commercial retail sale, they stand as sought-after artifacts of modern brewing industry history.
