Supreme Light Beer Cone Top Can

Supreme Light Beer Cone Top

The Supreme Light Beer cone top represents an iconic piece of eastern Pennsylvania brewing heritage, produced by the South Bethlehem Brewing Company of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

Brewery Background

The South Bethlehem Brewing Company was an established regional brewery serving the Lehigh Valley and neighboring markets. Like many independent local breweries of its time, South Bethlehem developed dedicated canned beer offerings to maintain local shelf presence alongside national shipping brands, with Supreme Light Beer serving as a primary label.

Can Features and Markings

The can prominently showcases the "Supreme Light Beer" title and South Bethlehem mandatory brewery text. It features an Internal Revenue Tax Paid (IRTP) marking, reflecting federal tax compliance requirements from its era of production. The container is engineered with a classic J-spout cone top profile, representing an important chapter in mid-century American metal packaging.

Collector Significance

Among breweriana collectors—especially those specializing in Pennsylvania brewery history and cone top cans—Supreme Light Beer is recognized as a scarce and sought-after piece. Because the South Bethlehem Brewing Company operated within a localized regional footprint, surviving examples in any state of preservation are elusive. Minor variations exist across printings and factory markings, and authentic examples remain standout centerpieces in vintage breweriana collections.
