Tahoe Pale Dry Beer Flat Top Can

Pacific Brewing's Scenic Tahoe Can

Produced for Pacific Brewing of Oakland, California, the Tahoe Pale Dry Beer flat top is celebrated among breweriana enthusiasts for its striking mid-century scenic graphic art.

Design and Imagery

The label is dominated by a full-color photographic landscape depicting the deep blue waters, forested shoreline, and rugged mountain backdrop of Lake Tahoe. Superimposed in front of the alpine vista is an illustrated pilsner glass filled with effervescent golden beer, resting upon a silver serving platter. Below the picturesque scene, the brand name Tahoe is rendered in prominent red lettering, accompanied beneath by the descriptor Pale Dry Beer in contrasting dark text against a clean white lower field.

Regional Heritage

Pacific Brewing utilized vivid regional iconography to connect the refreshing qualities of their pale dry beer with the crisp, natural beauty of Northern California's Sierra Nevada region. Cans from this era featuring detailed photographic landscape prints represent a distinct period of West Coast packaging design.
