Uinta Club Aged Lager Beer Flat Top Can

Becker's Uinta Club Aged Lager

The Uinta Club Aged Lager Beer Flat Top Can is an iconic regional collector's can originating from Becker Products Company, located in Ogden, Utah. Named after the prominent Uinta mountain range spanning northeastern Utah and western Wyoming, the Uinta Club brand served as one of the hallmark labels produced by the Becker family brewing enterprise.

Historical Context and Brewery Origins

Becker Brewing & Malting Company was originally founded in 1890 by John S. Becker along with his sons Gustav L. Becker and Albert E. Becker. Operating out of Ogden, the company established itself as one of the most prominent independent breweries in the Intermountain West. Following the repeal of Prohibition, the brewery operated under the name Becker Products Company and distributed beverages across Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Nevada, and surrounding western territories. Its regional canning operations produced several sought-after labels that remain central to Western brewing history.

Design and Collector Significance

The can showcases a classic mid-century graphic layout featuring bold "Uinta Club" typography alongside the Becker Products designation. Notable label variations exist across production runs, showcasing subtle differences in design elements such as the presentation of the brewery crest, Western motifs, and red-lettered titling.

Manufactured by the American Can Company using the trademark "Keglined" protective inner coating, the can was packaged for distribution primarily within the Intermountain region. Because Becker operated as an independent regional brewery rather than a national shipping giant, cans bearing the Uinta Club name remain standout showcase items for collectors specializing in Utah breweries and mid-century canned breweriana.
