Valley Brew Special Export Beer Cone Top Can

Stockton's Valley Brew Export Can

Produced by the El Dorado Brewing Company of Stockton, California, the Valley Brew Special Export cone top can represents an important artifact of Northern California's regional brewing heritage. El Dorado Brewing Company, which traced its brewing roots back to the California Gold Rush era in 1853, served as a prominent local beverage manufacturer in the San Joaquin Valley for generations.

Manufactured by the Continental Can Company, this twelve-ounce container features bold "Valley Brew" branding alongside the "Special Export Beer" designation. The label design reflects the mid-century marketing efforts of regional breweries striving to distinguish their premium offerings in an increasingly competitive marketplace dominated by expanding national shipping breweries.

Among breweriana enthusiasts, the can is celebrated for its regional historical significance and graphic presentation. Collectors document various variations across production runs, reflecting shifts in mandatory tax wording—such as Internal Revenue Tax Paid (IRTP) notices—as well as slight modifications in profile heights and regulatory statements. Because distribution was primarily centered in Central California and surrounding territories, surviving examples from El Dorado Brewing Company remain highly sought-after centerpieces for West Coast can collections.
