Waldorf Red Band Beer Flat Top Can

Waldorf Red Band Flat Top Can

The Waldorf Red Band Beer flat top can was produced for the Forest City Brewery of Cleveland, Ohio. The Waldorf moniker derived from the German words Wald (forest) and Dorf (village or town), directly referencing the identity of Cleveland's historic "Forest City" brewing heritage.

The can design is recognized for its prominent red and metallic graphic presentation, featuring bold typography and the distinctive "Red Band" motif. Manufactured by the American Can Company, the container includes an instructional panel along the side depicting an opener. Certain releases also incorporated the brewery's promotional captions, such as "For the Keenest..." and "Super Fine Pilsner Beer."

Among breweriana collectors, the can represents a notable piece of northern Ohio's brewing legacy. Known variations exist across its production run, showcasing differences in side-panel instructional text layouts, mandatory legal statements, and state tax stampings on the lids, including Ohio tax lids.
