Weber Special Premium Beer Flat Top Can

The Sheboygan Weber Flat Top Can

The Weber Special Premium Beer flat top can bearing the Sheboygan, Wisconsin mandatory statement represents an intriguing chapter in mid-century Midwestern brewing history. Although the Weber brand originally built its heritage in Waukesha, corporate consolidations and acquisitions by regional brewing operations—most notably Kingsbury and G. Heileman—led to the production and canning of Weber-branded beers at the Sheboygan facility.

Among breweriana collectors, examples carrying the Sheboygan mandatory line are particularly sought after due to their relative scarcity compared to the standard Waukesha versions. The can design is widely recognized for its rich metallic gold body, bold typography, and distinctive red and black trim accents.

Collectors have identified variations across the production run. These variations include subtle shifts in mandatory brewery text formatting, differences in trim coloring, and canning marks from manufacturers such as Continental Can Company. Certain issues also feature promotional top lid text highlighting easy-open aluminum lids, reflecting the brewing industry's evolving packaging technologies during that era.

Today, this can stands as an iconic artifact of Wisconsin's shifting mid-century brewing landscape, linking the historic Weber brand name to Sheboygan's packaging heritage.
