Westover Premium Light Beer Can

Produced by Eastern Brewing Corporation in Hammonton, New Jersey, the Westover Premium Light Beer can represents a notable piece of mid-century regional breweriana. Eastern Brewing was widely recognized in the brewing industry for producing an extensive catalog of private labels, supermarket house brands, and contract brews out of its facility on North Washington Street.

The can design features classic mid-century typography and graphics, emphasizing the Westover name with traditional decorative motifs meant to convey a premium tier for a budget-friendly regional offering. Because Eastern Brewing Corporation was the only major packaging brewery in Hammonton during this era, cans bearing the Hammonton city credit hold particular historical significance for collectors specializing in New Jersey breweriana.

Different manufacturing variations of the can exist among collections, reflecting minor shifts in mandatory text, metallic background finishes, and lid construction across separate production batches. These differences make the Westover can a popular subject of study for collectors tracing the packaging history of East Coast regional contract canning operations.
