White Cap Beer Cone Top Can

Two Rivers White Cap Cone Top

Produced for Two Rivers Beverage Company of Two Rivers, Wisconsin, the White Cap Beer cone top can represents a classic piece of mid-century Great Lakes brewing heritage. Located along the western shore of Lake Michigan, Two Rivers Beverage Company operated under family stewardship, with White Cap serving as the brewery's flagship label. Notably, Two Rivers Beverage Company was among the few Wisconsin brewing establishments of its era to incorporate the word "Beverage" rather than "Brewing" into its official corporate identity.

The can’s graphic design reflects its maritime region, featuring clean typography and a striking contrast of bold colors. Produced in the high-profile format by Continental Can Company, the face displays the prominent "White Cap" branding flanked by subtle motifs evocative of the foaming waves of Lake Michigan.

Collectors recognize variations across the White Cap cone top lineup. These differences include variations in mandatory legal text, subtle company naming designations (such as Two Rivers Beverage Co. and Two Rivers Brewing Co.), and the presence or absence of federal tax statements like the "Internal Revenue Tax Paid" (IRTP) legend.

As regional competition intensified against expanding national brewing syndicates in the post-war era, Two Rivers Beverage Company eventually discontinued the White Cap line before closing its doors entirely. Today, this cone top can remains a prized staple among Wisconsin breweriana collectors, serving as a memorable artifact from a historic lakeside brewing community.
