Wisconsin Premium Beer Flat Top Can

Wisconsin Premium Flat Top Can

The Wisconsin Premium Beer flat top can represents an iconic mid-century Midwestern label produced under the Wisconsin Brewing Company banner in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Closely tied to the brewing traditions of Waukesha—a locality celebrated throughout brewing history for its natural spring water sources—this can exemplifies the regional pride that defined the era's packaged beer marketing.

The graphic design of the Wisconsin Premium can is widely recognized among breweriana collectors for its classic outdoor sporting motif. The can prominently features an outdoor scene depicting a hunter alongside a hunting dog in the field, tapping directly into the Northwoods sporting culture popular across the Upper Midwest. Many cans produced under this Waukesha label also featured promotional text emphasizing the regional brewing connection and the local water source.

Various manufacturing and graphic variations exist across the production run. Collectors recognize differences across several can company manufacturing marks, as well as distinct lithographic treatments on the hunting vignette, which was produced with different finishes such as enamel, metallic tones, and dark background variations. Linked to the Fox Head brewing operations in Waukesha, the Wisconsin Premium flat top remains a standout piece of Midwestern breweriana for enthusiasts focused on sporting-themed designs and Wisconsin brewing history.
