Wisconsin's Private Club Beer Flat Top Can

Wisconsin's Private Club Flat Top

Wisconsin's Private Club Beer represents a notable mid-century offering from the Fox Head Brewing Company of Waukesha, Wisconsin. Produced during an era when Waukesha was celebrated for its mineral spring water—often promoted on Fox Head packaging with slogans referencing the city's famous water sources—this can highlights the rich regional brewing heritage of the area.

Design and Production

Manufactured by the National Can Company, the face of the can features bold typography displaying the "Wisconsin's Private Club Beer" brand name accented by traditional crest and scroll motifs. The graphic layout strongly emphasized its Wisconsin origins, catering to regional pride and local tavern culture.

Collector Variations and Mandatories

Fox Head frequently utilized alternate business mandatories and subsidiary names for various distribution runs. As a result, collectors recognize variations of this can bearing the primary Fox Head Brewing Company mandatory as well as versions reading Spring City Brewing Company—a nod to Waukesha's moniker as the "Spring City". Other variations across production batches include different lid stampings, such as specific state tax markings, along with subtle shifts in text placement.
