Yuengling's Beer Quart

Yuengling's Beer Quart Can

Produced by D. G. Yuengling & Son of Pottsville, Pennsylvania, the Yuengling's Beer Quart represents a significant large-format release from America's oldest continuously operating brewing company. Established by David G. Yuengling as the Eagle Brewery, the Pottsville institution built deep regional prominence across Pennsylvania and neighboring markets.

Packaging and Design

While standard-sized packages handled broad retail distribution, the 32-ounce quart size was manufactured in smaller quantities, intended for tavern sharing or extended home consumption. The Yuengling's Beer Quart showcases the brewery's traditional branding, prominently featuring the historic eagle emblem perched atop a keg alongside bold, classic typography that highlights the brewery's established heritage.

Manufacturing and Variations

The cans were manufactured by major industrial can producers of the era, notably the Continental Can Company. Multiple variations exist across surviving specimens, with differences typically found in mandatory regulatory statements, side-panel text formatting, and manufacturer trademark placements.

Collector Significance

Large-format cans occupy a dedicated niche within breweriana collecting due to their substantial display presence and lower production volume compared to standard sizes. The Yuengling's Beer Quart remains a prized centerpiece for enthusiasts focusing on historic Pennsylvania breweries and large-format breweriana.
